Accounting Manager - Mountlake Terrace, WA

Mindful Support Services is a business-to-business support service for independent mental healthcare businesses. We provide administrative and organizational services—lead generation, marketing, billing, and collections from patients and insurers—to simplify operations for providers. Our teams support over 1,700 independent mental health providers and, in turn, over 23,000 clients per week across five states and via Telehealth.
About the role
The Accounting Manager will manage the company’s accounting operations, including the monthly close cycle, and work closely with the Controller to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting processes. This role includes maintaining internal controls, producing financial reports, and fostering collaboration with cross-functional departments.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including designing an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives.
- Manage the full accounting cycle: accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Assist with publishing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Collaborate with the Controller to ensure compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Manage accounting staff: set clear expectations, provide timely feedback, and schedule performance reviews to ensure employee growth and job satisfaction.
- Support external and internal audit processes; ensure accuracy and compliance with financial statement audits.
- Responsible for complying with and filing applicable taxes and ensuring compliance with city, state, and local tax and licensing requirements.
- Maintain and enforce appropriate accounting policies and procedures.
- Act as financial liaison for provider members, owners, managers, and administrative staff.
- Provide excellent customer service to provider members via email, phone, and in person regarding monthly reporting, payments, and fees.
- Identify, organize, and execute process improvement projects to drive efficiency, growth, and revenue gains.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA license preferred.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of GAAP.
- Minimum of 6 years working as part of a corporate accounting team, including experience managing the audit of US GAAP-based financial statements.
- Experience in the healthcare, medical billing, or equivalent industry highly preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of MS Office tools, particularly Excel and Word.
- Detailed understanding of ERP accounting software such as Sage Intacct or NetSuite.

Pay
$100,000–$130,000 per year
