Accounting Manager - Maverick Casino & Hotel Elko

Pay range: $45,000 to $60,000 DOE/yearly. Housing options available after 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with Compliance and Internal Audit to meet the Nevada Gaming Control Minimum Internal Control Requirements.
• Manages day-to-day audit review of daily gaming audits and electronic software Merydyan.
• Steps in upon the absence of accounting office personnel to fulfill daily assigned duties.
• Reviews and prepares assigned Minimum Internal Control and Internal Controls for daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual requirements.
• Manages Gaming Audit, Internal Audit, External Audit, and Compliance requests.
• Assists the Controller in reconciling Gaming Revenue source documents to the General Ledger and books all gaming revenue journals where needed.
• Understands the operations of the business and maintains ongoing communication with necessary parties to ensure compliance with state regulations.
• Bridges the knowledge of gaming operation performance and operational effectiveness.
• Reviews and prepares gaming exception reviews.
• Prepares and maintains compliance with Nevada Gaming Control taxing authorities.
• Manages the count-team personnel.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Internal audit, revenue audit, or compliance experience preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience in Casino Accounting at Lead, Supervisor, or Manager level.

Skills

• Strong understanding of Nevada Minimum Internal Controls.
• Proficiency in MS Office required and strong MS Excel skills.
• Previous experience with Microsoft Dynamics/Business Central or related Accounting System preferable.
• Highly analytical with strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work effectively and independently while managing concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, office environment.
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time, speak and hear, write, finger, and feel.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to twenty pounds (20 lbs) and occasionally more.
• Requires all forms of manual dexterity and mobility throughout the shift.
• Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasionally required to work weekends and/or evenings.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
