Accounting Manager, IU Alumni Association
About the role
The Accounting Manager position within the Accounting & Finance department supports the shared goals of the Indiana University Foundation and the Indiana University Alumni Association. Key responsibilities include maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with GAAP, aligning accounting operations with policies, and preparing various types of financial reports.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the integrity of IUAA's financial records
- Ensure compliance with GAAP
- Align accounting operations with Foundation policies, internal controls, and reporting standards
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
- Build management reports and variance analyses for IUF finance leadership
- Support reporting to campus, schools, and units on the accounts managed by your team
- Serve as project manager for IUAA's standalone annual audit and Form 990/990-T filings
- Review transactions prepared by accounting staff
- Confirm billing and cost-sharing amounts between IUAA and its affiliated partners
- Monitor spending against budgets
- Act as the primary liaison between IUAA and IUF Finance
- Supervise an accounting team member and provide guidance, feedback, and support for their professional development
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- CPA or progress toward CPA a plus
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Nonprofit, higher education, or foundation experience preferred
- Supervisory or mentoring experience preferred
- Experience supporting audits and preparing audit schedules

Benefits
The IUF offers a hybrid role based in Bloomington, Indiana, with an in-office schedule of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and remote flexibility on Tuesday and Thursday. The hiring range for this position is $90,000 - $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
