Accounting Manager III
About the role
We're looking for a highly technical Accounting Manager to lead ASC 606 revenue recognition and contract accounting across approximately 300 government and commercial contracts. This is an opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys navigating complex contract structures, making critical revenue recognition decisions, and leading a team of accounting professionals.
Responsibilities
Own ASC 606 revenue recognition and contract accounting activities
Interpret contract terms and determine appropriate revenue treatment
Apply Point-in-Time (PIT), Over-Time (OT), and Percentage of Completion (POC) methodologies
Analyze fixed-price, cost-plus, and hybrid contract structures
Evaluate allowable and unallowable costs and their accounting impact
Prepare technical accounting memos and support complex accounting positions
Partner with external auditors and ensure GAAP compliance
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately five accounting professionals
Collaborate with Contracts, Program Finance, and FP&A on revenue and accounting matters
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
11+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
Deep, hands-on ASC 606 and revenue recognition expertise
Government contract accounting experience
Experience with fixed-price, cost-plus, and hybrid contracts
Strong understanding of GAAP and audit processes
Proven leadership experience managing a team
Advanced Excel skills
CPA strongly preferred
