You'll lead a team of seven accounting professionals while partnering with nonprofit clients to improve financial operations, strengthen reporting, and support long-term success. What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Staff and Senior Accountants, helping them grow professionally while ensuring high quality client service.
  • Review financial statements, month-end close activities, and reporting packages for accuracy and GAAP compliance.
  • Serve as the primary accounting advisor for a portfolio of nonprofit clients, providing guidance on financial reporting, accounting best practices, and process improvements.
  • Oversee multiple client engagements, ensuring audits, grant compliance, and key deliverables stay on schedule.
  • Partner with clients to improve accounting workflows, strengthen internal controls, and resolve complex accounting issues.
  • Support new client onboarding by developing efficient accounting processes tailored to each organization's needs.
  • Collaborate with internal leadership to improve team performance, mentor new employees, and drive operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 3+ years of public accounting, outsourced accounting, or full cycle accounting experience.
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or mentoring experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with accounting software.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem solving skills.
  • CPA and nonprofit accounting experience are a plus, but not required.
