What You'll Be Doing
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Staff and Senior Accountants, helping them grow professionally while ensuring high quality client service.
- Review financial statements, month-end close activities, and reporting packages for accuracy and GAAP compliance.
- Serve as the primary accounting advisor for a portfolio of nonprofit clients, providing guidance on financial reporting, accounting best practices, and process improvements.
- Oversee multiple client engagements, ensuring audits, grant compliance, and key deliverables stay on schedule.
- Partner with clients to improve accounting workflows, strengthen internal controls, and resolve complex accounting issues.
- Support new client onboarding by developing efficient accounting processes tailored to each organization's needs.
- Collaborate with internal leadership to improve team performance, mentor new employees, and drive operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 3+ years of public accounting, outsourced accounting, or full cycle accounting experience.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or mentoring experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with accounting software.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem solving skills.
- CPA and nonprofit accounting experience are a plus, but not required.
