About the role
In this position you will be responsible for overseeing the Fluid Milk accounting processes and team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee the Fluid Milk accounting month-end close process and financial reporting which includes establishing timelines for deliverables, overseeing the preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Provide direct support and leadership for financial oversight to ensure revenue, costs, and reserves are recorded accurately for the fluid milk business.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, corporate policies, and internal control requirements.
- Review and manage the preparation of customer invoicing and internal plant charges for milk receipts.
- Review and approve supplier invoices for milk purchases, operating with tight compliance deadlines (USDA and Federal Milk Marketing order).
- Provide leadership, professional development and coaching to the fluid milk accounting staff (5 direct reports) including conducting mid-year and year-end performance reviews.
- Provide guidance and feedback, promote and develop a team atmosphere, and monitor individual workloads and make adjustments as needed.
- Oversee payments for milk purchases to Land O'Lakes Dairy members and to haulers for milk deliveries.
- Coordinate and monitor preparation of supporting schedules for quarter-end and year-end requests from external auditors.
- Collaborate with business partners to drive process improvement activities through leading or supporting projects and other initiatives.
Experience & Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required. CPA or MBA preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive finance/accounting experience required.
- Previous leadership experience highly desired.
- Knowledge of the milk or dairy industry is a plus.
- Knowledge/proficiency of JD Edwards or other ERP systems, strong Excel, Hyperion Essbase preferred.

Pay
$93,360-$140,040. In most cases, candidates offered employment can expect to be hired at a pay rate near the middle of our salary ranges.
