About the role
RLP Mechanical is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations for our Waxahachie business unit. This position reports directly to the VP of Accounting and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while helping drive continued growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting functions and month-end close
- Prepare monthly financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
- Analyze KPIs, job costing, margins, and variances
- Ensure GAAP compliance, including WIP accounting, report, and revenue recognition
- Help develop accounting team members
- Support annual audits and compliance reviews
- Partner with operations leadership on business performance and planning
- Improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting consistency
- Provide strategic financial insight to support growth initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, job costing, WIP accounting, report, and revenue recognition is required
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite or similar preferred
- Background in construction, mechanical contracting, HVAC, or service industries is required
- Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills
- Hands-on mindset with ability to improve processes and support operations
Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Must be able to pass a background check
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of construction accounting principles
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
