Job Responsibilities
- Cook up all close activities (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, inventory, Research and Development, fixed assets, accruals).
- Prepare and scrutinize journal entries, account reconciliations, and supplementary schedules within the close timeframe.
- Generate timely and precise balance-sheet, income-statement, and cash-flow reports.
- Analyze discrepancies between budget/forecast and actual results, pinpointing significant business factors.
- Present monthly and quarterly management reporting packages.
- Design, document, and validate SOX-aligned internal controls.
- Maintain compliance with U.S. GAAP, federal/state tax laws, and company policies.
- Coordinate external audits and regulatory examinations, mitigating financial statement risks.
- Optimize ERP workflows (NetSuite) and automate reconciliations to reduce the close cycle duration.
- Lead finance-related projects (module implementations, system integrations).
- Supervise and mentor 2-3 accountants (senior, staff, AP/AR specialists).
- Set objectives, offer real-time feedback, and deliver training on technical accounting topics.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Support ad-hoc requests from FP&A on budgeting and forecasting.
- Compose technical accounting memos and assist in investment due-diligence processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Active CPA license (or in process).
- At least 6–8 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years leading a team.
- Proven ownership of month-end close and financial-statement preparation in a U.S. GAAP environment; public-company or SOX exposure preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills and hands-on ERP experience (NetSuite strongly preferred).
- Familiarity with BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau) and workflow-automation platforms.
- A strong analytical mindset and ability to convert data into actionable insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with effective cross-departmental collaboration.
- Proven ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Big 4 or large regional public-accounting background.
- Industry experience in medical devices, e-commerce, or manufacturing.
- Knowledge of multi-entity or international consolidation, transfer pricing, and intercompany eliminations.
