About the role
AWS is looking for individuals who bring both accounting experience and entrepreneurial aptitude to accelerate decision-making and management of the business and accounting. The ideal candidate should have the intellectual capacity to produce innovative ideas and analysis, along with the willingness to perform the necessary heavy lifting to implement these decisions.
Responsibilities
- Support various aspects of the accounting and reporting process.
- End-to-end process ownership to support finance and business partners.
- Lead delivery of accounting tasks and projects.
- Execute judgments to keep business and accounting projects moving and ensure the right decisions are reached to close the books each month.
- Understand internal control design concepts sufficient to assess the effectiveness of controls in their area and to design new processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities.
- Escalate risks and issues as necessary to leadership.
- Enhance partnerships between accounting and business, finance, tax, trade compliance, and IT groups.
- Research, conclude, and memorialize technical accounting position papers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, or 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience.
- CPA preferred.
- Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients.
- 5+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause, and creating/implementing an escalation plan.
- 5+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business.
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
- 4+ years of transactional accounting field experience.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $95,400.00 - $163,200.00 USD annually.
