Accounting Manager, AWS Supply Chain Accounting
About the role
Amazon Web Services (AWS) needs individuals with accounting experience and entrepreneurial aptitude to accelerate decision making and management of the business and accounting. The ideal candidate will have the intellectual capacity to produce innovative ideas and analysis, and the willingness to implement those decisions. The AWS Supply Chain Accounting team is looking for highly analytical individuals with a strong passion for analytics and accountability.
Responsibilities
- Support various aspects of the accounting and reporting process
- End-to-end process ownership to support finance and business partners
- Lead delivery of accounting tasks and projects
- Execute judgments to keep business and accounting projects moving and ensure the right decisions are reached to close the books each month
- Understand internal control design concepts sufficient to assess the effectiveness of controls in their area and to design new processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities
- Escalate risks and issues as necessary to leadership
- Identify process improvement and automation opportunities to drive positive change across the organization
- Enhance partnerships between accounting and business, finance, tax, trade compliance, and IT groups
- Research, conclude, and memorialize technical accounting position papers
Qualifications
The basic qualifications for this role include a Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience in multiple finance and accounting roles.
Skills
- CPA certification is preferred
- Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients is preferred
- 5+ years of experience identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause, and creating/implementing an escalation plan
- 5+ years of experience solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- 4+ years of transactional accounting field experience
Pay
The base salary range for this position is $95,400.00 - $163,200.00 USD annually, depending on the location. The total compensation package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs), as well as comprehensive benefits including health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
