Accounting Manager
About the role
The Accounting Manager will be mainly responsible for overseeing month-end close activities, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting processes. The position supervises and supports accounting staff while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of accounting operations. The role reviews journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, audit support documentation, and financial analyses. It also identifies process improvement opportunities and helps streamline accounting procedures and reporting processes. The position requires collaboration with internal teams and third-party providers to support accounting operations and reporting deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Oversee month-end close activities, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting processes
- Supervise and support accounting staff while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of accounting operations
- Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, audit support documentation, and financial analyses
- Identify process improvement opportunities and help streamline accounting procedures and reporting processes
- Collaborate with internal teams and third-party providers to support accounting operations and reporting deadlines
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's degree preferred
- CPA certification or progress toward CPA strongly preferred
- 7-9 years of accounting or audit experience required, including 2-3 years of management experience
- Strong current or recent general ledger accounting experience required, including month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and audit support
- Experience managing accounting teams in a fast-paced environment required
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Great Plains, or NetSuite required
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills required
- Ability to work within accelerated month-end close timelines required
- Project management experience is a plus
Pay
$64-$66/hr to start
Schedule
Hybrid position - 2 to 3 days per week onsite. 6-month temp-to-hire assignment with possibility for conversion based on performance and business needs.
