Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the general ledger and month-end close process, ensuring all journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting activities, consolidating inputs and preparing financial projections and analysis for management review.
- Monitor and analyse cost accounting data and variances, providing clear explanations and recommendations to operational and finance leaders.
- Review and interpret financial results, preparing management reports and dashboards that highlight key trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Serve as a key user and point of contact for the ERP and accounting systems, driving system optimisation and process automation.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors, providing required documentation and addressing audit queries in a timely manner.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in an accounting leadership or senior accounting role with responsibility for general ledger and month-end close management.
- Strong track record in financial reporting and analysis, including preparation and review of financial statements under US GAAP.
- Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling to support planning and performance management.
- Demonstrated expertise in cost accounting and variance analysis within a product- or manufacturing-oriented environment.
- Advanced proficiency with ERP and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and strong Excel skills.
- Solid understanding of internal controls, accounting policies, and technical accounting concepts.
- Able to interpret complex financial data, communicate insights clearly, and partner effectively with non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Skills
- Experience leading or mentoring accounting staff and coordinating team workflows.
- Background in process improvement, standardisation, or automation within finance functions.
- Exposure to multi-entity or multi-currency environments.
- Prior experience supporting audits and implementing recommendations.
- Familiarity with business intelligence or reporting tools for enhanced financial analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or progress toward CPA strongly preferred.
- Additional professional certifications (e.g., CMA) are an advantage.
- Ongoing professional development in technical accounting, GAAP updates, or financial systems preferred.
