Accounting Manager

About the role

The Finance Team at Paxos is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the company's month-end closing process. This role involves managing and leading the accounting team, supervising daily operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP and international statutory reporting requirements, reviewing reconciliations, and guiding the team in developing and implementing new processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing process
• Supervise the daily accounting operations
• Work with the internal team to successfully execute external audits
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and international statutory reporting requirements
• Review reconciliations, work papers, and supporting schedules to ensure high-quality preparation
• Guide the team in the development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting policies and internal controls
• Aid in the development and implementation of new or enhanced, scalable processes to support the company's growth and drive continuous improvement
• Enable the company to meet internal and external reporting requirements

Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of experience with a combination of public accounting (audit) and private/in-house accounting
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or CPA license
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Experience overseeing and managing an accounting team
• Proficiency with NetSuite ERP or other cloud-based accounting software
• Drive to continuously improve accounting operations, controls, and financial reporting processes
• Leverage systems and technologies to improve workflows and scalability
• Excellent organizational, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills
