Accounting Manager

About the role

Reporting to the Gas Cylinders Controller, the Accounting Manager will oversee a team of approximately five members, including Staff Accountant, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Administrative Support.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the company’s financial ledgers and subledgers.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports and forecasts for internal and external stakeholders to facilitate sound financial decisions.
• Safeguard company assets by assisting in the development of internal control policies and procedures and ensuring adherence.
• Supervise the timely and accurate processing of all accounts payable invoices to ensure an uninterrupted flow of goods and services.
• Review and approve new Luxfer customers or changes to existing customers, and assist with credit limit reviews.
• Assist in the preparation of Luxfer Inc’s annual financial statements and related US GAAP disclosures.
• Provide support and collaborate with the company’s accounting firm to complete the annual audit in a timely manner.
• Support Sarbanes-Oxley internal control compliance processes and assist the Internal Audit department with periodic audits and reviews.
• Report required financial data to government agencies and ensure accurate and timely payment of associated taxes and fees (e.g., property taxes, licenses).
• Supervise, train, and develop subordinate personnel, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Staff Accountant.
• Participate in the month-end general ledger closing for all North American Luxfer Gas Cylinders divisions, including preparation of complete and accurate financial statements.
• Administer the Corporate Purchasing Card Program.
• Administer the AP paperless system ESKER, managing users, authorization levels, and other attributes.
• Administer the expense report software system Expensys, managing users, authorization levels, and other attributes.
• Coordinate cash management, forecasting, reporting, and banking transactions with the Head Office Treasury department.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience with ERP platforms and paperless accounting systems; Esker or SAP experience preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proven ability to take initiative and achieve results in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common business documents.
• Strong adherence to processes and procedures.
• Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks within deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Pay

$90,000 to $95,000 per year.
