Accounting Manager

About the role

The Accounting Manager oversees daily operations for multiple affiliated companies, monitoring and analyzing accounting data to produce financial reports using proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.

Responsibilities

• Prepares financial statements, forecasts, and annual budgets.
• Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions.
• Produces financial reports ensuring compliance with GAAP or financial reporting standards.
• Assists Controller with high-level projects.
• Performs month-end account closing activities and reconciliations.
• Performs bank reconciliations for multiple accounts.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
• Handles other general accounting assignments as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field plus a minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience.
• CPA or MBA designation a plus, but not required.
• Working knowledge of GAAP, state, and federal regulations.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel.
• Experience analyzing large data sets with V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, and conditional/nested If-Then statements preferred.
• Strong communication skills, including writing and resolving employee/management concerns.
• Experience with Sage Intacct or other professional accounting/ERP software and Fixed Assets CS is a plus.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and deadline-oriented.
• Superb analytical and research skills.
• Ability to collaborate with multi-department teams and work independently with minimal direction.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
