Accounting Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our Maintenance Division Accounting team. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and enjoys developing people while driving operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Controller of our Maintenance Division, overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting the company's continued growth.
• Lead, mentor, and develop staff responsible for general accounting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and support.
• Foster a collaborative, service-oriented team culture.
• Prepare month-end close files and supporting documentation.
• Conduct monthly meetings to review financial results and close activities.
• Post monthly journal entries.
• Close modules at month end to advance period for new month.
• Aid in special projects and other accounting-related responsibilities as assigned.
• Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
• Review weekly AP invoice batches and ensure timely vendor payments.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.
• Issue new credit cards, monitor activity, and import monthly data.
• Review monthly credit card reports for accuracy and compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles

Qualifications

• Experience in the landscape, construction, or related service industries
• Experience with Sage and/or Paycom
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Pay

$90,000 - $110,000 DOE
