Accounting Manager

Job Title: Accounting Manager – Cooks’ Direct, Inc. Position Overview Cook’s Direct is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee operational accounting processes within our growing distribution and e-commerce organization. This role manages accounts receivable, accounts payable, and ERP-driven financial workflows, leads the AP/AR team, and supports the monthly close process — including oversight of Amazon, Walmart, and eBay marketplace reconciliations. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Development Mentor and supervise staff responsible for accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) Provide training to new and existing staff as needed Enforce proper accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls Respond to inquiries from the CEO, Controller, and company-wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests, and related matters Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversee AR operations including invoicing, collections monitoring, and escalation of past-due accounts Improve AP workflows including vendor invoice review, coding, and payment accuracy Manage accounting related to returns, credits, inventory adjustments, and landed costs Track vendor rebates and assist with contract reporting requirements Month-End Close & Reconciliations Manage reconciliation and accounting processes for marketplace activity Prepare select journal entries and support the month-end close process Systems & Process Improvement Support operational accounting workflows within Microsoft Dynamics Business Central Help improve ERP workflows and operational accounting processes within Business Central Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures to enhance departmental workflow Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 7+ years of accounting experience Experience with ERP systems and operational accounting processes Strong understanding of AP, AR, reconciliations, and month-end close support Advanced Excel skills Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently Preferred Qualifications Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central Marketplace or e-commerce accounting experience (Amazon, Walmart, eBay) Background in distribution or inventory accounting DESIRED ATTRIBUTES Knowledgeable — deep understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, auditing, and tax compliance Process-driven — manages and improves accounting workflows, including AP/AR, payroll, and internal controls Precise — catches errors and ensures data integrity across all accounting work Analytical — solves problems and explains complex financial data clearly to non-finance stakeholders Benefits & Compensation Competitive salary with performance-based incentives Comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, and vision) Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays 401(k) plan Professional development opportunities Equal Opportunity Employer Cook’s Direct, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer and values diversity in the workplace.
