Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and support daily financial operations for Public Housing, Housing Choice Voucher (HCV), Capital Fund, grants, and related programs.
- Prepare, review, and ensure accuracy of financial statements, HUD and regulatory reports, and Financial Data Schedule (FDS) submissions.
- Cook up month-end and year-end closings, audits, and regulatory filings.
- Monitor budgets, analyze variances, and prepare clear financial reports and narratives.
- Manage grant accounting, cash management, and timely drawdowns.
- Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to finance staff, promoting accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external auditors to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (CPA preferred)
- Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience, including at least two (2) years at a senior or supervisory level.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and governmental or nonprofit accounting.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
