Accounting Manager

Our client, a local financial services company, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Manager for their direct hire opening in the Buffalo area. The Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in managing complex accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing strategic financial insights to support organizational growth.

About the role

The Accounting Manager will oversee all aspects of daily accounting operations, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately tracked and reported.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly accounting activities, including accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets/prepaids, payroll, Asset Liability Management Reports, CECL Calculation Reports, and investments.
• Prepare timely monthly financial statements, Call Reports (Form 5300), and other regulatory reports.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
• Analyze income/expense variances.
• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and NCUA regulations.
• Prepare documentation and serve as a liaison for internal supervisory committee and regulatory agencies (NCUA).
• Monitor and manage daily cash flow and investments under the direction of management and the Board of Directors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent credit union/banking experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office in a Windows environment.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Pay

$52,000 – $78,000 per year, based on experience.
