Primary Responsibilities
- Own and oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, cash application, and account reconciliations
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and collections
- Maintain efficiency and accuracy by monitoring workloads and prioritizing tasks
- Identify process gaps and implement improvements
Month-End Close & Financial Accuracy
- Lead and execute the month-end and year-end close processes
- Review and approve reconciliations and journal entries
- Ensure accuracy of financial records and compliance with accounting standards
- Support accruals, reporting preparation, and audit readiness
Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversight
- Provide oversight of invoice processing, payment execution, and collections
- Monitor AP and AR aging and proactively address risks
- Resolve discrepancies with customers, vendors, and internal teams
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and approval workflows
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and review financial reports and dashboards
- Analyze trends in receivables, payables, and cash flow
- Provide insights to support operational and financial decisions
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
- Support audits with accurate documentation
Tax & Compliance
- Oversee multi-state sales tax filings and ensure accuracy and timeliness of submissions
- Maintain compliance with state and local tax regulations
- Partner with external advisors as needed for tax-related matters
Process Improvement & Systems
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows
- Support optimization of ERP and accounting systems
- Drive standardization across accounting processes
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and develop accounting team members
- Establish clear expectations and accountability
- Cross-train staff to ensure coverage and flexibility
Functions & Duties
- Review transactions, reconciliations, and account balances
- Oversee credit card reconciliations and expense compliance
- Support cash management and account balancing
- Respond to accounting inquiries from internal and external partners
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and special projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills
