Accounting Manager

About the role

ABB is seeking a motivated Accounting Manager to join our finance team. The ideal candidate should have strong technical accounting skills, excellent analytical abilities, and experience in a Big 4 or second-tier public accounting firm.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting records, ledgers, and GAAP reporting processes on various aspects of the consolidated business
• Assist the Controller in managing the monthly close process, including analysis and work to reduce the timeline for the close process
• Manage and develop a staff of accounting professionals
• Research accounting issues and ensure compliance with appropriate GAAP standards
• Aid in managing the annual audit with our audit firm
• Prepare necessary ad hoc reporting required by management
• Cook with and prepare reports for the CFO, other management, and internal customers
• Prepare process documentation and evaluate existing processes for improvement
• Assess and develop internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas
• Work closely across various functions, particularly with FP&A
• Lead more complex accounting projects and initiatives including purchase accounting & new GAAP pronouncements with other members of the accounting and finance team

Requirements

• CPA
• Strong technical accounting skills
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, with a minimum of 6+ years of total experience, including 4+ years in a sophisticated corporate environment
• Strong GAAP financial reporting experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel
