Accounting Manager, Amazon Publishing Accounting

Amazon Publishing Accounting is looking for a highly motivated and curious Accounting Manager to be a key member of the Accounting Team. Amazon Publishing is known for being a leading trade publisher that focuses on empowering storytellers and connecting them with readers worldwide. Responsibilities

• Guiding the accounting function for Amazon Publishing including recoupable advances, royalty calculation, content ingestion, multi-channel distribution, inter-company transactions, and marketing expenses.
• Developing, integrating, and improving accounting processes and procedures for subsidiary while increasing controllership
• Managing the month-end financial close and financial reporting deliverables
• End-to-end process ownership to support finance and business partners
• Execute judgment and ensure the right decisions are reached to accurately report financial results
• Drive projects, provide accounting guidance, and often serve as first point of contact for finance and business partners to launch new projects and resolve issues

Requirements

• 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
• CPA
• Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency
• Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
• Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results
• Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $95,400.00 - $163,200.00 USD annually in CA, MA, TX, VA, and WA, and $85,900.00 - $146,900.00 USD annually in TN. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
