About the Role
This position is responsible for assisting in the overall inventory accuracy program for the Distribution Center. The Department Order Specialist must work closely with daily operations to support inventory flow throughout various departments. The role involves assisting operational employees, cycle counters, and inventory associates to meet inventory accuracy requirements. Advanced knowledge of inventory control and proficiency with the Warehouse Management (WM) system are required.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and adjust inventory in Reserve, Active Case Pick, and Transitional areas.
- Use inventory accuracy options provided by the WM system to facilitate production flow.
- Assist the Inventory Accuracy leadership team in assessing, researching, and developing inventory accuracy requirements.
- Provide explanations for inventory adjustments.
- Work cross-departmentally within the Distribution Center using the WM system.
Requirements
- High School education or equivalent.
- Knowledgeable of all inventory flow aspects of the Distribution Center.
- Proficient with the WM system and its inventory accuracy options.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills; ability to interact positively with employees at all levels.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work flexible shift schedules with short notice (may be asked to switch shifts 2 to 3 days in advance).
- Certification and experience operating powered equipment, including turret trucks (preferred).
- Advanced knowledge of inventory WMS applications as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to perform with minimal supervision.
- Strong resolution skills for addressing daily inaccuracy issues; ability to work well under time constraints.
- Must pass or have previously passed the "Hay Assessment Test."
