Accounting Internship

About the role

You will participate in BAE Systems' nationwide LEAP Internship & Co-op Program, where you will Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. The LEAP Program will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on impactful projects, engage in career development opportunities, and network with our business leaders and the other students in the program.

Responsibilities

• Support the Accounting team in everyday Accounting and Compliance processes
• Report to the Assistant Controller and work directly with various leaders and specialists
• Work on impactful projects within the Ordnance Systems Business at our Kingsport, TN facility

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in an Accounting, Finance or related field
• Minimum of 16 hrs per week if internship is continued through the school
• Solid computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to multi-task and work efficiently under deadlines

Qualifications

• Preferred: Solid knowledge of accounting theory
• Preferred: Ability to follow directions
• Preferred: Attention to detail
• Preferred: Sound Professional Judgement

Skills

• Interest in developing professional skills in Accounting, Finance and Government Compliance in a manufacturing environment in the Defense industry

Benefits

• Full-Time Salary Range: $34830 - $46980
• Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan.
• Temporary employees working 20+ hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
