Accounting Internship
About the role
The Accounting Intern is a part-time position that provides hands-on experience supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of Utah Soccer. Working alongside the Finance team, this role offers exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, financial reporting, and event accounting. This internship is ideal for a student or recent graduate looking to gain practical accounting experience in a professional sports environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with monthly entries for multiple revenue centers.
- Support accounts receivable activities, including invoicing and reporting.
- Aid in accounts payable processing and expense approvals.
- Help prepare event settlements and game-day financial reconciliations.
- Enter and reconcile company credit card transactions.
- Aid in account reconciliations and general ledger support.
- Prepare invoices and assist with reconciliations for various departments.
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
- Complete special projects and other accounting or administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Educational background or experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance is preferred.
- Experience with accounting software or ERP systems is a plus.

- Previous coursework or experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
This position primarily works in a professional office environment with occasional work at stadiums and special events. The role requires prolonged periods of sitting, typing, and using a computer. Occasionally, the position may require standing, walking, bending, and lifting or carrying items up to 15 pounds while supporting finance and event operations.
