Accounting Internship

About the role

A holistic, end-to-end experience in a corporate environment with access and visibility to senior executives, hands-on experience in financial reporting, managerial reporting, tax preparation and annual audit, and participation in daily tasks as well as special projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general accounting month-end closing procedures
• Monthly financial statement and managerial reporting review and analysis
• Prepare financial reporting packages
• Assist in data collection and entry in preparation for ASC 842 implementation
• Prepare documentation in support of external audits
• Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis and investigate issues providing explanations and interpretation
• Handle sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity
• Complete special projects as needed and other duties assigned

Requirements

• Must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited local university, with a major in Accounting or Finance
• Junior or Senior level, with current GPA of 3.0 or above
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
• Ability to communicate process and findings through oral and written communication effectively and efficiently
• Ambitious, positive attitude, and a desire to build a career in the accounting field
• Possess a strong desire to learn and eagerness to gain hands-on experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, excellent math skills, and able to use a computer properly

Reports to Accounting Supervisor.

Pay

$20 per hour

Schedule

Core hours of operation are 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday thru Friday. 10 weeks (End of May through first week in August).
