Accounting Intern

About the role

The McGuire Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join their Corporate Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced accounting professionals, develop practical skills, and contribute to meaningful financial operations within a leading healthcare organization.

Responsibilities

• Compile, prepare, and transmit bank deposits.
• Prepare and maintain fixed asset data files and ledgers.
• Maintain the cash management file, including daily banking transactions.
• Aid in preparing financial reports, accounting records, and account reconciliations.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Gather documentation and coordinate responses for financial statement audits and New York State OMIG audits.
• Aid in creating ad hoc financial reports, analyses, and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Completion of at least two years of college coursework.
• Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
