Accounting Intern

About the role

CHS has exciting summer internship opportunities on our Accounting teams. These positions will play an active role in the month-end accounting close and financial reporting process. These internships will provide work experience and mentoring from CHS professionals to prepare for a career in accounting, while being part of a broader early career networking and development cohort.

Responsibilities

• Record journal entries in the general ledger
• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
• Prepare schedules in support of the 10-Q reported externally to the SEC
• Perform ad hoc accounting tasks, analysis, and reporting
• Participate in continuous improvement projects
• Gain exposure to CHS leadership
• Present key findings from your work to other early career associates and leaders in a capstone presentation

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications (required)

• Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Previous work experience

Additional Qualifications

• Agriculture experience or understanding of Agriculture industry
• Previous internship relating to finance, accounting or other Agriculture related internship
• SAP experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
