Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s in accountancy or business administration with accounting concentration OR Bachelor’s in business with accounting emphasis or business administration with accounting emphasis or economics with an accounting emphasis AND Master’s in business, business administration, business education, economics, taxation, finance or the equivalent OR Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area. OR the equivalent.
  • Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.
  • Note: A bachelor’s degree in accountancy or business administration with accounting concentration, with a CPA license is an alternative qualification for this discipline.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience teaching accounting courses, particularly introductory-level classes, using interactive instructional practices that promote student engagement, success, and retention.
  • Commitment to examine, reflect, and modify instructional, relational, and classroom practices to better support historically underrepresented and marginalized students, including students with disabilities, with the goal of advancing equity and closing achievement gaps.

Working Conditions

Salary Range: $1572.67 - $1725.85 per lecture unit rate, $1572.67 - $1725.85 per lab parity unit rate, $1258.16 - $1380.60 per lab unit rate

  • Summary: This recruitment will remain active for a period of one year, from the position opening date. If there is no longer a need to fill, the position may be closed sooner, and applicants will be notified. This is a continuous recruitment to fill part-time, and temporary faculty assignments on an as-needed basis. When the need to fill arises, the department will refer to this pool of part-time faculty.
