Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Accounting & Financial Analyst to support a dynamic finance team in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. This role reports directly to the Controller and will be responsible for a broad range of accounting, financial analysis, project cost accounting, budgeting, invoicing, and accounts receivable functions. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage financial information and reporting for assigned projects and contracts.
- Prepare financial inputs and supporting documentation for monthly financial reporting.
- Track and monitor labor charges, paid time off, travel expenses, and other direct project costs.
- Review travel estimates, expense reports, and reimbursement requests for accuracy and compliance.
- Create and maintain purchase requests and purchase orders for vendors and subcontractors.
- Review, validate, and approve vendor and subcontractor invoices.
- Support project cost accounting activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.
- Prepare customer invoices and manage the full accounts receivable lifecycle.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of invoices and financial reports.
- Maintain accounting records and supporting documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Auxiliary support for month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Support internal and external audits as needed.
- Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and financial performance.
- Develop and maintain Excel-based financial models, tracking tools, and reports.
- Collaborate closely with accounting, finance, operations, and project management teams.
Qualifications
- Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 10+ years of accounting, finance, or related operational accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and financial reporting.
- Experience with project accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, and cost management.
- Ability to manage accounts receivable and invoicing processes from start to finish.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive financial information.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Preferred:
- Experience with government contract accounting or project-based accounting environments.
- Experience using DCAA-compliant accounting systems or similar ERP/accounting platforms.
- Familiarity with project cost accounting, indirect rates, and contract billing.
- Experience preparing financial reports for contract and project management teams.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
