Accounting Clerk (Immediate NEED)

About the role

System One is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join a growing company in the Verdigris/Claremore area. This is a full-time position with a pay rate of $22/hr and potential for growth into a Staff Accountant role. The ideal candidate will be a cooperative, team-oriented professional who takes initiative and supports the accounting team in various tasks.

Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable
  • Enter vendor invoices accurately into the accounting system
  • Match invoices against purchase orders and receiving documentation
  • Assist with weekly check runs and electronic payments
  • Research and resolve vendor billing discrepancies and inquiries
• Accounts Receivable
  • Post daily cash receipts and ACH payments
  • Monitor aging reports
  • Follow up on overdue customer accounts by phone and email
• General Accounting Support
  • Perform high-volume data entry
  • Respond to inquiries, conduct research, and maintain organized files
  • Scan, organize, and file physical and digital accounting documentation
  • Assist with routine month-end closing procedures
  • Extract data and pull basic financial reports as needed
  • Help clean up and organize accounting processes and workflow
  • Take on other projects and responsibilities as needed

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Fast and accurate data entry skills
• Basic math, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas and VLOOKUPs
• Experience with an ERP or accounting system is a plus
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Professional communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion
• A positive, cooperative attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
• Sage experience preferred
