Summary
Support accurate financial operations and drive accounting excellence across the business.
Position
Based on-site at Sioux, IA Center location.
Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Complete daily accounting activities, including reconciliations, to assist in identifying consumption discrepancies from the previous day.
- Receive, code, enter, and pay various accounts payable bills.
- Receive harvest information and interpret data.
- Process livestock payments based on harvest information.
- Print and interpret bank deposit information for different facilities.
- Enter bank deposit data into accounting systems.
- Compile data and reports to assist with the monthly accounting closing process.
- Aid in observing and auditing physical inventories of meat, packaging, ingredients, and maintenance parts.
- Support local accounting leadership with monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Cross-train with other accounting associates to provide coverage during vacations or leaves.
Minimum Education And Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1–3 years of accounting experience or general administrative experience.
- Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills, including Excel and Word.
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate strong planning, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Preferred Education And Experience
- Associate degree in Accounting.
- Experience in manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of cost accounting, SAP, and continuous improvement concepts.
- Additional education or certification in the accounting field.
Physical Requirements And Environmental Factors
- Remain primarily in a sedentary position but occasionally move between offices or buildings.
- Move light equipment or supplies as needed.
- Access files, supplies, and equipment as required.
- Perform activities that may include bending and climbing.
- Work in conditions with wet and moist floors, including metal and plastic grating surfaces.
- Work in noise levels ranging from 50 dB to 110 dB.
- Experience exposure to chemicals used in poultry, food, and processing facilities.
- Wear and use required protective and safety equipment as directed by the company.
