Job Summary
The Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet seeks an Accounting Clerk II to support procurement, travel, and reconciliation tasks for various departments. This role is based in Franklin County.
Job Duties
- Review, process, and reconcile Procurement Card Payment Requests (PRCC) from receipts and US Bank entries.
- Verify accounting strings and collaborate with Budget and Grant Specialists on issues.
- Audit and process travel vouchers (TP) for all Education and Labor Cabinet departments.
- Ensure appropriate funding is used and travel regulations are followed.
- Audit and process ITA documents for payment when the Cabinet is charged for internal transactions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Day-to-day computer skills including projections/forecasting, fiscal analysis, and seeing the "big picture."
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excel experience (pivot tables, creating formulas, and charts).
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Commitment to meeting deadlines.
Minimum Requirements
- High school graduate.
- Three years of accounting, bookkeeping, or fiscal clerical experience.
- KCTCS Certification in Accounting or KCTCS Certification as an Accounting Recordkeeping Specialist can substitute for the required experience.
- Additional accounting, bookkeeping, or fiscal clerical experience can substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
Working Conditions
This role is performed in an office setting. There is an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months.
