Accounting Clerk

About the role

We are looking for a seasonal part time ACCOUNTING CLERK to join our Finance team at The Hoxton, Downtown LA.

Responsibilities

• Process the Daily Hotel banking and make deposits in the appropriate accounts.
• Carry out a complete daily Income Audit of the Hotel’s daily Revenue.
• Resolve and correct any variances in the above within a timely manner.
• Process Accounts Payable items including processing invoices, coding and requesting approvals.
• Review Front Office guest ledgers and Sales ledgers and perform Accounts Receivable functions as needed.
• To respond to any guest queries on a timely basis.
• Review and respond to credit card inquiries and chargebacks promptly.
• Ensure Finance Manager/Financial Controller/Hotel Operations are made aware of any continued variances, or where there may be training opportunities in other departments.
• Aid and support the implementation and future development of accounting systems, policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by Director of Finance

Qualifications

• You have 1-2 years of hotel finance experience
• You have some bookkeeping or similarly related experience
• You execute. You get things done
• You are scarily organized
• You jump out of bed every morning, fizzing with energy and jazzed about what you’re doing today
• You are humble
• You are able to take ownership of issues, solve problems and make effective decisions
• You are able to learn quickly and adapt to The Hoxton’s unique culture
• You will work positively and collaboratively to achieve the highest standards of delivery at work
• If we get stuck in a lift with you – we’ll get along nicely and have a laugh along the way
