Accounting & Audit Manager for CPA Firm

About the role

This position requires advanced technical knowledge of accounting and auditing standards (GAAP/SSARS/GAAS) to plan, execute, review, and complete assurance engagements. Additionally, you will apply advanced knowledge of federal and state tax laws (individual, partnership, corporate, and fiduciary) to review tax engagements, identify planning opportunities, and advise clients.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, and review engagements to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, and timely completion
  • Manage and oversee multiple client engagements simultaneously
  • Develop and maintain trusted client relationships by providing responsive, proactive, and high-quality service
  • Mentor, supervise, train, and review the work of staff while fostering their professional development
  • Effectively communicate with and on behalf of clients
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to pursuing a career in public accounting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in public accounting
  • Active CPA license required
  • Prior experience and expertise with real estate-related clients a plus
  • Technically skilled in planning, managing, and reviewing complex tax engagements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word) and able to quickly learn tax, accounting, document management, and research software (e.g., Lacerte, Thomson Reuters Suite, SurePrep, QuickBooks)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to supervise, train, develop, and review the work of staff
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and client service
  • Successful completion of a background check (including criminal and credit) as a condition of employment
