Accounting Assistant - Onsite Birmingham, AL

About the role

The Accounting Assistant will support the accounting and administrative operations of the client, focusing on accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general office coordination.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable invoices and vendor payments.
• Prepare customer invoices, post payments, and assist with accounts receivable activities.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Aid with month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and reporting support.
• Provide general office coordination and administrative support.
• Organize and maintain accounting files and records.
• Respond to vendor, customer, and internal inquiries related to accounting matters.
• Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, or accounting assistant role.
• Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting principles.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software is preferred.
• Experience with real estate accounting is a plus.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach.
