Accounting Assistant

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented accounting assistant to join our team. This role will support the accounting department with financial record-keeping, reporting, and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain financial records
• Reconcile accounts
• Handle invoicing and accounts receivable
• Manage accounts payable
• Track expenses
• Assist with commercial insurance renewals
• Interpret financial reports and provide insights to management
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting processes

Requirements

• Construction experience required
• Associate degree in accounting or related field (preferred)
• Proven experience as an Accountant or similar role
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Demonstrated ability to make decisions and exercise good judgment
• Ability to take initiative and be flexible while meeting multiple demands within a team environment
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Well-developed computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Foundations software is a plus
• Ability to reliably commute or relocate to Hunt Valley, MD 21031
