Accounting Assistant

A well-established agricultural and distribution company in Bakersfield is looking to add an Accounting Assistant to its growing finance team. This position exists to support an active accounting department that manages a high volume of daily transactions and reporting activities. The Accounting Assistant will assist with core accounting functions, maintain accurate records, and serve as a key resource for both internal teams and external vendors. You'll work closely with accounting leadership and collaborate with operations, administrative, and customer-facing teams. Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely and accurate payment of vendors
• Prepare account reconciliations and assist with month-end closing activities
• Maintain financial records, vendor files, and supporting documentation
• Support accounts receivable functions, including payment posting and customer account review
• Partner with accounting staff and department managers to research discrepancies and resolve issues

Requirements

• 2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or related experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working within an accounting or ERP system
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks accurately
• Experience in agriculture, distribution, manufacturing, or a similar operational environment is preferred

Pay

$45,000 – $58,000 DOE
