Join an international finance company as an Accounting Assistant in New York City. This role supports month-end close, general ledger, and audit preparation in a collaborative, multicultural environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily accounting tasks, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger support
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing and preparation of financial statements under U.S. GAAP
- Coordinate and support financial statement audit requests and documentation
- Maintain organized records, supporting schedules, and internal controls
- Utilize Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables) and accounting software for reporting and analysis
- Support processing of vendor invoices, payments, and other accounting administrative operations
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 5+ years of corporate accounting experience
- Experience supporting financial statement audits and understanding of U.S. GAAP
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software systems
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines independently
- Clear, professional communication skills (verbal & written)
Qualifications (Plus)
- Finance-related industry or tax/audit firm experience
- Experience with indirect taxes (1099, 1042, sales tax, property tax)
- CPA coursework or CPA firm experience
- Payroll gross-up experience
Schedule
- First 3 months onsite (Introductory Period)
- Afterward, hybrid: 3 days onsite + 2 days remote per week (New York, Manhattan office)
- Work hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (35 hours/week, 1-hour break)
Pay
- Base salary: $60,000–$80,000
- Discretionary bonus
