Accounting and Financial Reporting Senior Manager
About the role
Kearney & Company is seeking a Accounting and Financial Reporting Senior Manager to support the Department of the Navy (DON).
Responsibilities
- Supporting the Department of the Navy (DON) audit response, audit remediation, internal controls, financial processes, and/or accounting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS), and/or relevant Department of the Treasury and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) policies.
- Managing sub-task/project plan: prioritize activities, meet established deadlines, work closely with the client and Kearney team, seek out and provide value-added services.
- Driving improvements to achieve engagement goals.
- Working closely with the client and Kearney team and serving as the primary client-facing point of contact for Kearney.
- Demonstrating excellent writing and communication skills as significant time is spent drafting/updating communication artifacts (e.g., Standard Operating Procedures, Desktop Guides, whitepapers).
- Demonstrating strong customer service skills and the ability to work in occasional high-pressure situations with short deadlines.
- Directing and reviewing the work of Consultants and Senior Associates.
- Communicating status of project-related tasks to Team Lead and client.
Qualifications
- BA/BS/BBA degree from an accredited college/university.
- Nine (9) years of progressive, relevant experience, including six (6) years of experience leading financial management or business systems modernization/sustainment and related projects.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Interim Secret (or higher, such as Top Secret or TS/SCI) security clearance (requires U.S. citizenship).

The expected salary range for this position is between $103,000 and $180,000. This range is representative of base pay only and does not include straight time pay for hours worked over 40 per week, company contributions towards paid benefits, and/or bonuses. Actual compensation (meeting or exceeding the range) will be determined based on specific experience, education, work location, clearance level, and other factors permitted by law. This position is eligible for bonuses (when applicable).
