Responsibilities
- Perform assigned month-end activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, management reporting, SEC reporting, and variance analysis
- Prepare, maintain, and enhance schedules, reports, and analyses for internal and external stakeholders
- Support internal and external audit requests by providing accurate documentation and clear explanations
- Collaborate as a team member on accounting and finance-related projects
- Process and analyze large volumes of data, ensuring accuracy while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and automation
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field with a strong accounting focus and a minimum of one (1) year of accounting experience in the energy industry or successful completion of an accounting internship
- Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential or actively pursuing CPA certification
- Alternative Consideration: Candidates currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field with a strong accounting focus may be considered
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Demonstrates strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with safety as a top priority
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Communicates effectively and collaborates across teams and departments
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial acumen
- Applies the basic principles, theories, and concepts of accounting to prepare basic financial reports and assist in the day-to-day maintenance of an accurate general ledger
- Develops solutions to problems of limited scope and complexity
- Analyzes financial records and performs routine accounting assignments under close supervision
