About the Role
Henry Ford College is seeking a full-time Accounting Analyst to accurately process invoices for payment via several formats such as weekly check runs, ACHs, and credit cards, while also assisting with other duties to support the Financial Services Department.
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (onsite).
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the full lifecycle and compliance of the accounts payable process.
- Monitors and corrects general ledger accounts for proper coding.
- Manages vendor records, compliance, and entity validations.
- Completes assigned schedules, reconciliations, audit tasks, compliance, month-end, and year-end tasks.
- Handles various weekly accounts payable check runs.
- Maintains the College Accounts Payable credit card to make payments when possible.
- Assists with College E-payables and credit card programs.
- Provides guidance and excellent customer support to team members, key stakeholders, and external vendors.
- Troubleshoots and researches issues as needed.
- Maintains, updates, and creates necessary procedure books for Accounts Payable, P-card, E-payable, and other processes.
- Performs miscellaneous general ledger work and/or journal entries as assigned.
- Additional duties as assigned to support the College, Foundation, and Financial Services team.
Requirements
- Two years’ experience working with accounts payable processes, including invoice management, purchase order management, payment processing, compliance, and vendor communication.
- Knowledge and work history of accounts payable, including verifying account coding, mathematical accuracy, and validation of invoice data (including approval to pay prior to entering invoices).
- Ability to complete and maintain both internal and external vendor reconciliations and reporting.
- Experience with prepaid accounting, capital assets, grants, and payroll is a plus.
- Associate degree in Accounting with a minimum of two years of accounting-related experience, or five years of experience in the accounting field.
- Strong Microsoft Suite skills, with an emphasis on Excel and Outlook.
- Work experience must include preparation of financial reports from computerized accounting programs.
- Experience working with an integrated administrative computer software system (Ellucian, Colleague) preferred.
- Experience working in a college business office preferred.
