Accounting Analyst

Responsible for providing expert-level guidance, mentorship, and training to internal team members and third-party Service Providers. Evaluates landlord compliance, reviews invoice reconciliations (e.g., OPEX), and ensures landlord ledgers are accurate. Analyzes complex or unresolved billing invoices and reviews and approves related payments according to WAG policies and procedures. Additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Monitors timeliness of external sources providing required documents, information, and payments; notifies management of late items.
• Assists with monitoring accounts, researching, and correcting issues and exceptions as assigned.
• Analyzes moderately complex accounts, records, and reports; investigates and resolves accounting issues within area of responsibility.
• Performs reconciliations for supported areas and analyzes resulting variances; proposes and prepares adjusting entries as necessary.
• Prepares reports in support of internal and external audits.
• Audits compliance with contracts, negotiated terms, and applicable regulations.
• Recommends process improvements; may assist in exploring modifications and implementation of changes in systems and procedures.
• Performs data mining activities and root cause analysis as assigned.
• Contacts internal and external departments to obtain required information, documents, or payments.
• Monitors and audits own and others' work for accuracy and timeliness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree OR High School Diploma/GED and at least 3 years of experience in an analytical role in accounting, finance, business management, or auditing.
• Knowledge of applicable regulations.
• Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluating customer satisfaction.
• Experience analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement and find solutions.
• Intermediate-level skill in Microsoft Excel (e.g., using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers, and/or print scaling).
• Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and at least 2 years of experience in an analytical role in accounting, finance, business management, or auditing OR High School Diploma/GED and at least 5 years of experience in an analytical role in accounting, finance, business management, or auditing.
• Ability to interpret commercial lease clauses.
• Experience with project management (e.g., planning, organizing, and managing resources to successfully complete specific project goals and objectives).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Capacity to resolve payment disputes and defaults with external partners and manage project outcomes internally.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and writing skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex analyses independently within defined frameworks.
• High degree of professional maturity, initiative, quick learning ability, and resourcefulness.
• Strong organizational skills.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $63,100 - $101,200 per year. The actual salary offered will depend on factors including geography, skills, abilities, education, experience, and other relevant considerations.
