Accounting Analyst

About the role

The Accounting Analyst position at VCI Construction is based in Upland, CA.

Responsibilities

• Aid in month-end reviews of project- and job-level P&Ls
• Support weekly production data reviews
• Understand financial reporting and general ledger structure; ensure GAAP and SOX compliance
• Assist management with ad hoc reporting and analysis
• Develop a deep understanding of company systems and processes
• Collaborate with the team to improve processes and deliver actionable results
• Support other accounting departments with backlog
• Aid in the upcoming software implementation, including data analysis and training
• Aid other departments within accounting with backlog
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

• 3-5 years’ experience in a construction or utility accounting environment
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to quickly grasp new concepts
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, SUMIF, Pivot Tables, etc) and Google Sheets
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
• Skill in prioritizing multiple tasks and meeting strict deadlines
• Dependable with good attendance and adherence to work schedules
• Team player, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Proven ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels
• Ability and willingness to quickly adapt to new technologies, including proprietary software
• Experience with Google tools such as: Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Smart Sheets

Qualifications

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Strong accounting and finance skills are required
• Minimum 45 WPM typing speed with 10-key proficiency

Skills

• Construction industry experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (preferred)

Pay

The wage range for Accounting Analyst is $30.00 - $35.00.
