About the role
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who wants broad exposure to budgeting, financial reporting, month-end close, and operational finance while working closely with executive leadership.Responsibilities
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing budget-to-actual variance analysis
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly/quarterly financial reports
- Aid in month-end close and general ledger maintenance
- Manage accounts receivable, billing, collections, and aging analysis
- Support annual audits and ensure compliance with applicable funding and financial regulations
- Maintain fixed asset records and assist with property tax and regulatory filings
- Partner with department leaders to provide financial guidance and reporting
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting accuracy
Requirements
- Experience in accounting, budgeting, or financial analysis
- Strong knowledge of month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Experience with budget preparation and variance analysis
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently
- Proficiency with Excel and accounting/ERP systems
Qualifications
- College degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA certification preferred
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of financial software and ERP systems
