Accounting Analyst
About the role
This position is responsible for applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and procedures to analyze financial information, maintain accurate records, support budgeting and daily accounting operations and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures are in place for The Church of Eleven22.
Responsibilities
- Maintain an authentic and growing walk with Jesus Christ through the ongoing spiritual disciplines of Bible reading, prayer, personal worship, fasting, confession and fellowship
- Analyze account activity, investigate variances and determine adjusting entries based on independent judgment
- Analyze financial data and trends, develop insights and present recommendations to leadership to inform decision-making
- Prepare and post journal entries, applying GAAP to ensure accurate classification and treatment of transactions
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with accounting policies and controls
- Perform account reconciliations and assist with month-end and year-end close
- Support budget preparation and ongoing financial tracking, compiling data, maintaining budget schedules and monitoring actuals against approved budgets throughout the fiscal year
- Support day-to-day activities such as cash receipts, disbursements and other basic accounting functions for daily operations
- Support giving process with posting contributions and answering general congregant giving questions
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred
Three to five years of accounting experience with exposure to a variety of the field's concepts, practices and procedures
Non-profit accounting experience preferred

Monday through Friday (hours may vary based on church needs to include working weekends)
