Accounting Analyst

Robert Half Contracts Finance and Accounting division is partnering with a government agency in Nevada City for a reconciliation project. This part-time, remote role requires occasional in-person meetings in Sacramento.

About the role

We are seeking a Full Charge Bookkeeper to assist with a heavy reconciliation project. The ideal candidate will have an eye for detail, work independently, and meet deadlines. The position starts in early September.

Responsibilities

• Review and reconcile two years of financial and accounting records, identifying discrepancies, missing information, and items requiring correction.
• Research historical transactions and work closely with internal teams to resolve reconciliation issues and ensure data accuracy.
• Assist with cleaning, organizing, and preparing historical financial data for migration into the organization’s new software system.
• Support the implementation and data conversion process, including data entry, validation, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Partner with Accounting, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure the new system contains complete, accurate, and properly reconciled historical information and is ready for ongoing use.

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to review financial information for completeness and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain organized records in a contract assignment.
• Proficiency using accounting software and standard business applications such as spreadsheets and email tools.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams regarding financial matters.
