Perform cost analysis, identify and investigate accounting irregularities/abnormalities and report to management.
Work collaboratively with Production Department to review monthly plant expenses.
Prepare journal entries to accrue revenue and expenses or other items in accordance with GAAP and the accounting policies established by the company.
Perform account reconciliation to ensure balances are correct.
Review accounts to resolve and understand unusual items and variances.
Provide support and necessary documents for annual external audit.
Aid Controller in developing improvements in internal policies, procedures, and processes.
Liaise with information systems and technologies team to implement improvements to the accounting system.
Prepare, review, and audit internal payment requests to ensure accuracy and proper documentation.
Aid Controller on income and other tax filing requirements.
Learn the basics of the accounts payable system and function.
Perform month-end closing tasks.
Assist with other job-related duties and special projects as assigned, including ad hoc reports and analyses.
Maintain current knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting.

Strong critical thinking skills and understanding of basic accounting concepts (e.g. debits and credits).
High-level knowledge of US GAAP.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Strong familiarity with productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to quickly learn industry-related regulations and utilize information in written reports.
Comfortable preparing and delivering reports to management.
