Accounting Analyst

About the role

Prepare, analyze and review journal entries, perform account reconciliations, prepare financial schedules and review balance sheet for area of responsibility as needed. Prepare reports using Business Objects, Hyperion and other query tools. Assist with special projects, accounting procedures, controls and documentation as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree or a combination of education plus equivalent work experience (accounting degree preferred)
• Demonstrated working knowledge of GAAP
• Experience with accounting and reporting systems

• Proven effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and respond quickly to changing needs through teamwork approach
• Demonstrated ability to work independently
• Ability to utilize software applications (e.g. spreadsheets, word processing, etc.)
• Nice-to-have: Knowledge of Utility Accounting
• Nice-to-have: PeopleSoft experience
• Nice-to-have: 7-9 years experience
