Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor)
Job Description and Duties
The Accounting Administrator I position acts as the Unit manager over the Accounts Receivable Unit of the Accounting Section at CalRecycle. This position is responsible for coordinating and supervising the professional, technical, and clerical staff of the Accounts Receivable Unit. The Accounts Receivable Unit handles posting of fund and appropriation level journal entries, invoicing, daily deposits, collections, revenue reporting, and fiscal system reconciliations.
Effective July 1, 2026, CalRecycle staff will be office-centered, requiring employees to report to the office at least four days per week. Hybrid telework may be available under Government Code 14200, subject to eligibility criteria and future program needs. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. Regardless of telework eligibility, all employees may be required to report to the designated headquarters location, at their own expense.
Minimum Requirements
The minimum requirements include a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, and two years of progressively responsible experience in accounting or a related field. Candidates must also possess a valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Desirable Qualifications
- Experience/knowledge in Account Receivable processing.
- Collaboration with all levels of staff within the department and control agencies.
- Familiarity with FI$Cal experience (or other similar accounting system).
- Understanding of policies and regulations, state fiscal policy, Uniform Codes Manual (UCM), State Administrative Manual (SAM), Manual of State Funds, business law, and government code.
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Adobe.
- Quality application materials (no misspellings, no grammatical errors, included resume, complete application).
